Pria insomnia memiliki resiko kematian tinggi

FacebookTwitterPrintShare

Bayi kita sibuk menyerap dunia.

Preparing for Breastfeeding

FacebookTwitterPrintShare

It is normal to have concerns about breastfeeding. Your ability to produce milk is not related to the size or shape of your breasts, and women with flat or inverted nipples, or who’ve had some kinds of breast surgery, can also successfully breastfeed.

BreastfeedingBreastfeeding
Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding does not require any special preparations. Your breasts may be tender initially and increase in size as their milk-producing cells grow and multiply. The dark skin around your nipple (called the areola) will also get larger and darker as your pregnancy progresses; this is nature’s way of making your breasts easy to find for your baby. The small bumps on the areola (called Montgomery glands) also play a role in breastfeeding. They produce a substance that softens the skin, may slow the growth of bacteria, and produces a familiar scent that will guide your baby to your breast.

Women used to believe that they needed to prepare their nipples (with nipple rolling or rubbing with towels to “toughen them up”) for breastfeeding to reduce the likelihood of nipple soreness. But nipple soreness usually happens when the baby is not latched on correctly, so positioning your baby correctly on the areola, not the nipple, will help, although some adjustment soreness is to be expected.

Knowing the Skin

FacebookTwitterPrintShare

How can you pick good skin care if you don’t even know why you’re cleaning your skin? To start, your skin is the largest organ in your body. Yes, it’s an organ, just like your heart, lungs, or kidneys. The skin keeps us warm, protected, and holds all our many parts together. It’s also largely responsible for eliminating wastes and maintaining our constant body temperature.

The skin is built in layers, like a sandwich. If you were to take your skin and stretch it out, it would stretch about 18 square feet and weigh over 3 kilograms. That’s a lot of surface area! The layers that make up the skin are very important when discussing skin care. The first layer is the epidermis, a thin layer of tightly packed cells that are constantly being shed. Protecting the epidermis is a layer of sebaceous oil and perspiration called the acid mantle. The slight acidity of this coating protects the skin from bacteria.

Below the epidermis is the dermis, a middle layer that gives our skin strength and flexibility. Collagen and elastin fibers, two big players in aging skin, are located here and it’s predominately their fault when your skin starts to sag and wrinkle. The final layer of the skin is the subcutaneous layer. Mostly this is fatty tissue that gives our skin smoothness and contour.

The skin is our protection, but that doesn’t mean it’s bulletproof. In order to excrete wastes, the skin must be able to breathe. Oxygen passes into and out of the skin along with salts, sweat, and waste particles. This also means that chemicals applied to the surface of the skin. are just one step away from being in the body. This is why proper skin care and finding safe products is very important for not only your skin’s sake, but also your overall health.

How young children learn about food and eating

FacebookTwitterPrintShare

It is important that toddlers see parents eating and enjoying healthy food – are you a good role model for your child? It is normal for young children to be wary about eating a food they have not met before and these are ways to help them.

  • Offer the food in a happy environment. Children tend to like foods that they associate with fun. (This is why fast food outlets can become so popular.)

  • Keep offering the food on several occasions. It can take 8 to 15 tries before the food becomes familiar and a child accepts it.
  • Don’t insist that the food is eaten and don’t offer a reward for eating it. Both of these measures have been shown to make children dislike that food.
  • Children are more likely to want a food if they are told they can’t have it or if it is used as a reward.

Children have the natural ability to know how much food they need and they do not usually overeat. However they can easily lose this skill. If children are pushed to eat more than they want or encouraged to finish everything on the plate, they may learn not to stop when they have had enough. This can lead to weight problems later.

It has been found that a diet which contains liberal quantities of
(i) seeds, nuts and grains
(ii) vegetables and
(iii) fruits
would provide adequate amounts of all the essential nutrients.

Each food group should roughly form the bulk of one of the three principal meals. These foods should, however, be supplemented with certain special foods such as milk, vegetable oils, honey, wheat germ, yeast and liver.

Low blood sugar is caused by too much sugar

FacebookTwitterPrintShare

Hypoglycaemia is a condition of low blood sugars. Ironically, it is aggravated by consuming too much sugar. Hypoglycaemia is usually caused by an excessive intake of refined carbohydrates and sugar foods.

These substances cause the pancreas, the adrenal gland and the liver to lose their ability to handle the sugar properly. Other causes of low blood sugar are a tumour, disturbed functioning of the liver, pituitary gland or adrenal glands. Stress intensifies this condition as it weakens the adrenal glands and starts a faulty pattern of glucose intolerance.
